_ Classroom Assistant - Key Stage 1 (KS1)_

Location:
Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Pay rate:
£ £85 per day

Working hours:
Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm (term time only)

Start date: 4th September 2023


Unique School Solutions are supporting a primary school in the Rotherham area to appoint a Classroom Assistant supporting in Key Stage 1 (KS1).


The duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the class Teacher by preparing the classroom for learning, preparing resources and setting up activities / learning stations
  • Identifying learners who require further support or extension tasks to aid their development
  • Effectively managing low level disruption and children's behaviour by following the schools behaviour policies
  • Prioritising children's safety and well being in line with the schools safeguarding policies and keeping children safe in education
  • Providing children with 1:1 support or small group booster sessions which will be preplanned by the Class Teacher

Requirements for the role:


  • Experience supporting children or young people ideally within a school setting however alternative settings would be considered such as Youth Work, Tutoring, Overseas teaching, play work
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • A care for children's wellbeing and safety which is number 1 priority
  • The ability to build rapport with learners and colleagues alike
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
