We currently have a vacancy for an Air Traffic Control Assistant to join our team at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.


As an Air Traffic Control Assistant your main objective is to work closely with the Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs) to provide a safe and expeditious air traffic service to aircraft operating in the air and on the ground.

The tasks may vary depending on whether you work as an approach or aerodrome assistant, but they typically include:


  • Providing ATCOs with up to date weather information.
  • Providing up to date and accurate flight information to ATCOs.
  • Assisting the with unexpected events, emergencies and unscheduled traffic.


Working shifts across the 24 hour day, you will hold responsibility for monitoring, relaying and updating flight data, conducting weather observations, communicating flight safety messages and interacting with other airport departments.

Computer skills including familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, and an excellent telephone manner are essential to the role.
