Quality Engineer - Sheffield, United Kingdom - REED Engineering
Description
A great opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a leading supplier to the Oil & Gas & Aerospace industry.
Primary Duties
- Product and Process improvement utilising data analysis tools and improvement techniques
- Reporting of Quality & Business Metrics including PEAR data, IDN Data and RFT.
- Managing & coordinating the NADCAP approval of Heat Treatment processes across all sites.
- Managing the Complaints System, including coordinating with sales & finance on credits and returns.
- Managing the CPAR system to ensure that corrective actions are effective and closed out in a timely manner.
- Carrying out APQP activities, including FMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.
- Supplier Development & Approval, including generation of supplier performance metrics, supplier liaison and surveillance
- Carrying out audits for internal product and processes and supplier/ subcontractors
- Write / review and update procedures and establish effective processes that ensure compliance
- Monitoring customer satisfaction data and taking actions to improve
- Training of members of the team and operations regarding improvement techniques, procedure changes and induction training and quality awareness.
- IDN dispositioning, analysis, root cause and corrective action
- Customer liaison including presentations
Secondary & Supporting Duties
- Supporting customer and 3rd party audits as required.
- Supporting the MOC System and completing risk assessments
- Assisting the management of measuring equipment and completing MSA
- Provide backup to the Inspection Manager for DPRV & Grid Overchecks, as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Educated to ONC/ HND/ Degree or equivalent preferably in an Engineering Discipline
Demonstrable Experience of:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum) required to accomplish daytoday work activities and willingness to learn additional programs.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problemsolving capabilities.
- Continuous Improvement tools and techniques
- Experience of Quality Management System Implementation and Development
- Knowledge of International Quality Standards and technical specifications, preferably within the Aerospace or automotive Industry.
- Knowledge and experience of PFMEA, APQP, Control Plans & PPAP would be of benefit.
- Working knowledge of Heat Treatment practices and controls would be preferred.
- Successfully balancing multiple projects at various stages with limited supervision in a fastpaced, competitive environment.
- Working independently as well as with and through others to achieved desired results.
- Ability to analyse and resolve difficult problems effectively and timely through the implementation of longterm solutions.
- Ability to foster collaborations, inspire confidence, and motivate individuals across diverse teams in a manufacturing environment in order to meet objectives.
