Job summary:


  • We are looking for a Senior Technology Advisor to join the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovations's (CDEI) projects team, supporting the delivery of its programmes. This includes its AI Assurance Programme, which supports the Government's ambition to build the most trusted and proinnovation AI governance system in the world, and its Responsible Data Access Programme, which aims to drive innovative approaches to tackling barriers to responsible data sharing.

Job description:


Some of your responsibilities will include:


  • Designing high impact projects
  • Helping partners to identify and address their needs through mixed method projects that support innovation and drive the responsible use of data and AI.

Leading projects:


  • Responsible for the successful delivery of technicallyfocused projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time and to a high standard.

Offering advice and feedback to colleagues and partners within your area of technical expertise.

Engaging with partners
  • Forming close working relationships with our partners, and fostering valuable connections to industry, government, and civil society.

Championing the CDEI's expertise:

  • Communicating the findings of our project work to a wider audience, including through reports, briefings, and speaking engagements.

Capturing insights
  • Considering how findings from particular projects can be applied elsewhere to support other organisations to use data and AI responsibly.

Contributing to the CDEI's culture - adding to the life and soul of the CDEI, taking time out of day to day duties to ensure the CDEI is an inclusive and purposeful place to work.


Person specification:


Essential requirements

  • Technical expertise in datarelated technology, in at least one of the following areas:
  • An interest in the broader risks and opportunities posed by data-driven technology, and an ability to make connections between technical issues and wider policy considerations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to nonexpert audiences.
  • Capable of working independently under own initiative, and guiding the work of others.

Desirable skills

  • Experience of working in partnership with other teams or organisations to deliver complex projects successfully.
