Description

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Adult Inpatient Services at the Cavell Centre, Peterborough.


The successful applicant will be joining an established psychology team within the wider ward MDT where multi-disciplinary working is highly valued.


To support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients within the service, across all sectors of care, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.


Working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.


To assist in clinically related administration, collection and analysis of clinical data, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.


The role will include appropriate information sharing with service users, their families, GPs and other key stakeholders and partner agencies.

  • To support completion of Cognitive Screening assessments and in some
circumstances more detailed neuro-psychological assessments.

  • To input information and maintain within databases
  • To monitor and evaluate progress, refining interventions as necessary.
  • To plan and prioritise workload.
  • To ensure that patients are appropriately consulted about relevant aspects of their care and are empowered to express their views in a responsive environment.
