Description

My client in the Halifax are of West Yorkshire are looking for time served Welders and Platers.

Responsibilities:

Setting out of complex fabrications using the appropriate equipment
Reading and interpreting detailed fabrication drawings.
Tack welding components into position following the appropriate welding procedure.
Profiling of components using Oxy/Propane cutting equipment.
Lifting, turning, manipulating and moving heavy loads with cranes.
Working to production deadlines.
Carrying out self-inspection of fabrications & assisting others in inspecting their work.
Welding duties in accordance with qualifications.

Maintaining a safe working environment by only adopting safe working practices and ensuring that housekeeping is of the highest standard.

Required Skills/Experience

Must have a 'D' or equivalent in GCSE Math's & English or above.
Ability to read lists and drawings and works instructions
Mechanical engineering qualifications or time worked apprenticeship
Previous experience of working in a manufacturing / production / engineering environment
Team player and willingness to get the job done
Able to communicate effectively

Work Hours

DAYS
37 hours per week - 6.45am - 3.15pm Monday-Thursday, 6.45am-11.45am Friday
33 paid holidays per year, including bank holidays.

NIGHTS
40 hours per week - 7.30pm - 6.00am Monday-Thursday
29 paid holidays per year, including bank holidays.
Night shift premium paid at basic rate + 1/3
