Job Title:
Warehouse Operative


Reporting To:
Logistics Manager


You must be able to commit to the shifts
Shift Pattern is on a weekly rota basis with a short/early finish on Fridays

Early shift:
Monday to Thursday 6am - 1.45pm; Fridays - 6am to 11.30am

Late shift :
Monday to Thursday 1.30pm - 9.15pm; Fridays am - 5pm

Daventry, England


Main Purpose of Job & Accountability:
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the job holder will have responsibility for Goods in and Out.


Principal Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Specific Areas of Responsibility include:


  • Reporting to the Logistics Manager the job holder is expected to deliver optimum warehouse services and play a key role in standardizing the ways of working (Culture).
  • The role requires the delivery of working practices that support the site hygiene, food safety, environmental and safety programs.
  • As information and strategies are cascaded from the Operations meeting, you'll be required to drive planned and structured change to warehouse processes whilst always maintaining compliance.
  • Clear communication is key to success as the role requires regular dialogue with all business functions and external material providers.
  • The Warehouse is responsible for delivering the daytoday material supply plan efficiently, timely and safely. The SMED team is a key customer and requires accurate allocation and removal of raw materials to ensure its efficient function.
  • The role requires strong leadership skills and the daytoday demonstration of the appropriate attitudes and behaviours, encouraging the delivery of individual and team objectives.
  • The Warehouse must clearly communicate, using a range of techniques, the agreed vision for the future, clarity of goals, focus and a sense of urgency. Considerations must be given to the change requirements relating to the growth of the business and the demands of the SMED team.
  • The accurate recording of Radius data is paramount.
  • Clear communication and day to day improvement of the internal customer supplier relationships are paramount.

Tasks:


  • Order picking various items using hand scanners.
  • Organising and maintaining the warehouse.
  • Stock allocation and quality control of the goods.
  • Good level of Numeracy and literacy is essential.
  • Booking items in and out of the warehouse ready for distribution.
  • Quality inspections on some items and the way they are packaged.
  • Achieve 100% specified checks as required.
  • Maintain all paperwork as required.
  • Ensure all handovers to incoming shifts passed over.
  • Follow SOP's (paperwork)
