In the role of multi skilled
Health and Safety Coordinator, you will provide H&S support within the ASC or C&S manufacturing departments to ensure all processes are compliant with UK legislation.
Ensure that any H&S issues are highlighted early and dealt with the relevant departments to close out the identified actions to ensure that the departments can fulfil a high standard of H&S and comply with current UK legislation.
Will report into the Site Manager.LI-onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the local H&S processes are in place, are kept up to date and following local and UK legislation.
- In the area assigned to you, conduct regular safety observations, fill in hazard reports, define/recommend the necessary best practice improvements needed and ensure any corrective actions are dealt with.
- Educate employees on safety standards within the workplace and be available as a focal point to improve safety and behaviours.
- Support/attend regular "Toolbox Talks (TBT)" on safety with the departmental teams.
- Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
- Investigate departmental incidents, such as 'Near misses
- Accidents' for the department and identify possible causes and recommendations for changes to avoid recurrence.
- Attend weekly departmental Managers' walk rounds and inspections to identify any possible H&S infringements. If found, bring those to the assistant managers' attention and work with them to remove any possible hazards and issues.
Qualifications
- H&S NEBOSH Certificate or Equivalent.
- Relevant experience working in a factory/chemical engineering environment would be preferable.
- Experience developing COSHH assessments would be preferable.
