We are looking for a security officer to work a 36 hour shift working on behalf of Alabaré Christian Care and Support. Alabaré Centres support vulnerable, homeless and marginalised people by providing accommodation and helping them gain the skills, confidence and opportunities to live a fulfilled life. The charity runs Alabaré Place in Barnard Street, which provides accommodation for up to 41 people, from 16 years and older, who might otherwise find themselves homeless.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide a visible, alert and reassuring security presence outside of normal office hours
Monitor entry into the premises
Manage visitors to the property
Undertake routine foot patrols
Monitor behaviour of residents ensuring house rules are adhered to
Respond to and manage incidents efficiently and effectively
Maintain effective communications with the project supervisor ensuring that issues are raised and dealt with promptly and effectively
Liaise with client representatives, police and other agencies as necessary
Complete necessary documentation including incident and occurrence reports as required

Details:

Working 9 hour shifts, 4 on, 4 off from 22:00 to 07:00hrs. Average 36 per week
Must be prepared to work any day of the week, which will include some weekends and bank holidays
Prorota paid annual leave
Overtime opportunities covering annual leave
Extensive training and further opportunities provided
Security officers must have a current and active SIA licence (either Door Supervisor or Close Protection)
Must be robust and willing to deal with challenging behaviour whilst maintaining a friendly approachable demeanour
Experience in social work or similar will be desirable but not essential
Security officers must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and 10year background checks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to use own initiative to assess situations and respond appropriately
A good timekeeper and able to plan own workload
Smart, wellpresented and confident
