Job Description:


We are looking for a Supply Chain and Procurement Lead_ to join our Solutions team within the Environment, Water and Energy end market in the UK.

Our diverse and exciting work centres on implementing environmental engineering schemes, major multi-disciplinary survey and investigation programmes, remediation and mitigation of green and brownfield project risk for a wide variety of clients and sectors.

Nature-based solutions are a key growth area in seeking to deliver our contribution to net zero and environmental net gain, be that removal of invasive species or creation of new habitat.

We are a Delivery Partner for our clients, leading by science and engineering, and the premier UK service provider for bespoke programmes involving significant elements of specialist environmental consultancy and siteworks as well as delivery management for major projects.

Key to our success in delivery as a management contractor is deep and effective collaboration with our supply chain and subcontractors creating a fully integrated solution for our clients.

We offer our clients single point accountability from a trusted brand for implementation to high expectations majoring on safety, value and quality of outcome whilst dealing with technically complex issues.


With a healthy pipeline of work, we are seeking to grow by bringing in team players with general experience of delivering environmental and ground engineering projects.

You should be comfortable working with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, overseeing the work of our supply chain, ensuring technical quality expectations are met, and adherence to budget and programme.

With experience in geotechnical or environmental engineering and demonstrable project management experience of major packages of work, you would bring commercial acumen, entrepreneurialism, conscientious reporting and collaborative inter-personal skills.

You will use this to support project teams in meeting the timescales and technical demands for producing key deliverables by being a leader in our interactions with our supply chain partners.


The role of Supply Chain Director will require the definition and actioning of strategic approaches to supply chain interaction from pre-project, through delivery to closure.

The role will encompass responsibility for ongoing management of our approved lists of suppliers to maintain a readiness to deliver safely, cost effectively and reliably in the 'AECOM way' resulting in outstanding project outcomes and repeat work.

You will be involved in tenders and project delivery and provide leading inputs to supply chain matters in both.


Key aspects of the role are:

  • Development and implementation of our supply chain engagement strategy
  • Provide leading inputs on supply chain requirements for tenders, proposals and projects
  • Managing our list of approved supply chain partners to ensure a readiness and seamless flow from proposals into project delivery including validation of competence under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Providing regular repots on supply chain matters to the business unit leadership and team
  • Creating a culture of deep collaboration and trust with our supply chain
  • Ensuring our supply chain are informed and aligned on expectations, changes, standards and procedures
  • Working to support our position with our project teams that ensures all supply chain companies on our contracts comply with all relevant statutory safety and environmental legislation in our delivery
  • Lead on the development of agreements with our supply chain consistent with our head contracts
  • Provide next horizon thinking on supply chain matters and strategy


You should be comfortable working with internal and external multidisciplinary teams, overseeing the work of our teams and supply chain, and safety, value and quality expectations are clear, set and met.
