The opportunity:


This is a certified role in which you will be responsible for the pre-sale advice checking and sign off of Occupational Pension business for The Openwork Partnership, including schemes with Protected Benefits, SIPP and SSAS cases and Opt Outs.

In addition to this, you will assess both Pension and Investment advice on a pre and post-sale basis. You will ensure that the advice complies with current regulation and Openwork's COB Suitable Advice framework.

You will be responsible for reviewing both the advice and the Suitability Report, providing feedback to advisers and suggested improvements, where necessary.


This is a hybrid role based in our Swindon office, with the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • You will be responsible for checking cases in accordance with current regulation and Openwork's COB Suitable Advice framework, in an accurate, effective, and fair way.
  • Work in collaboration across the partnership ensuring that the financial advisers' requirements are met, which allows them to provide suitable advice.
  • Identify and develop strong relationships with key contacts across the partnership (both internally and externally) providing advice and technical guidance as required.
  • Regularly chase the adviser and/or providers where there are outstanding requirements.
  • Ensure all work is completed compliantly and within agreed service level agreements.
  • Identify and champion improvements to team processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for proactively managing an individual pipeline of cases.
  • Promotion of teamwork across Operations and the Network.

What will you need to succeed?:

  • Ideally, you'll hold a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (with completed R04 exams or equivalent) and Pension Transfer Specialist qualifications.
  • Have a good understanding of pension and investment products.
  • Previous experience of proactively managing a pipeline.
  • Previous experience of dealing with adviser and providers.
  • Knowledge of Pensions & Investment products, including safeguarded Benefits, SIPPs, and Pension Crystallisation.
  • Good understanding of Financial Conduct Authority requirements for pension and investment transfers.
  • Awareness of Financial Conduct Authority, Treating Customers Fairly principles and general advice process.
