Description

An opportunity has arisen in our Maintenance department for a
General Labourer to join our well-established engineering organisation, based in our head office in Kendal, Cumbria.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the General Labourer is responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of the factory, offices and land around the premises, whilst working within Gilkes Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.

The role

Labouring for several building improvement projects scheduled for 2023/2
Painting and decorating offices and walkways
Gardening
Moving furniture
Assisting Maintenance with general labouring
Cleaning factory walkways
Stand in for workshop labourer during holidays etc
Window / Gutter cleaning
Material movements around town and in factory

The individual

GCSE or 'O' Level grades A
C or equivalent qualification, including English and Mathematics
Painting and decorating experience
Previous transferrable experience / skills
Punctual, reliable and independent
Manual handling skills
