About The Role:


Are you an experienced communications professional who is adept at creating promotional, educational and operationally clear campaigns for consumers and loves to manage talented marketers? NHS Professionals, the award-winning provider of flexible workers to the NHS and experts at Putting People in Places to Care, are looking for an experienced campaign marketer to connect our Bank Members and healthcare professionals with work opportunities in their local NHS Trusts.


This role will be in place until the end of April 2024, leading, guiding and supporting the Bank Member Engagement Utilisation & Marketing Team (EUMT) as they deliver campaigns to over 190,000 healthcare professionals registered with us.

Working with over 100 NHS Trusts and healthcare organisations, this exciting new opportunity will lead in developing and executing effective strategies to promote and protect NHS Professionals, increase brand awareness, and support the overall business objectives as the largest provider of temporary workers to the NHS.


Role summary:


As Interim Head of Member Communications Campaigns you will be responsible for managing a team of marketers and digital professionals to deliver on key engagement and member loyalty marketing campaigns.

Using a broad range of owned and paid media channels, you will plan and track the ROI and effectiveness of the campaigns, increasing both engagement with, and retention of, our flexible workers.


An integral part of the role is to work closely with operational colleagues and internal stakeholders to agree and implement communications plans in alignment with the expectations of our NHS Trust customers.

This role requires a hands-on yet strategic thinker who has a strong attention to detail and writing skills to ensure all work is delivered to a great quality.


This role is pivotal within the wider marketing team and reports directly into the Director of Marketing & Brand and NHS Professionals senior leadership teams.

The post holder will need to keep across all staffing groups' developments including Nursing, Doctors and other job families in order to align campaign objectives with customer priorities.


This post holder will have experience of using marketing automation to provide expert leadership to the marketing team as the organisation introduces new systems and processes to drive better Bank Member experiences.


This role will follow a hybrid working arrangement and can be carried out from any of our office hubs (Hemel Hempstead, Manchester or Leeds) or be based from home with travel as required.


Due to the nature of the role, it also carries 'on call' responsibilities, working to an agreed rota with others if the business requires.

The role is homebased if the post holder wishes they could work from our Hemel, Leeds or Manchester offices.


We would love to meet someone with:

  • A degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Demonstrable and extensive experience in consumer marketing or a related field, preferably in healthcare, public sector, or a highly regulated industry
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications campaigns
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working with and managing senior stakeholders/spokespeople
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple projects
  • Experience of working in a structured project focused environment
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of social media channels and online presence
  • Crisis management experience is desirable for managing public consumer feedback
