9760 - Trainee Maintenance Operative - Permanent Contract

Immediate Start Available


An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Operative to join our branch refit team primarily based at our Head Office in Bolton.

Although the role is based in Bolton, due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work at various sites within our UK portfolio which on occasion will require overnight stays in hotels.

This position is permanent and the contracted hours will be a basic minimum of 40 hours per week working Monday to Friday 9am until 6pm with a daily 60 minute unpaid lunch.


You must have the ability to adapt to a variety of working environments such as the Head Office environment, our Pharmacy branches and other various properties that we own.


Your Main duties will include:

  • Travelling to and from job locations as a passenger in your Team Leaders Van
  • Completing set jobs in a timely manner
  • Assisting the Team Leader to set up your work sites
  • Manual handling
  • The use of basic hand/ power tools (110v & 240v)
  • Cleaning sites/properties
  • Carpentry works
  • General decorating
  • Safe keeping, inspection and tool maintenance
  • Complying with the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy, Method Statements & Risk Assessments, On Site Health and Safety rules/procedures and Company Standard Operating Procedures

Essential skill set required:

  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use Smart Phones/ tablets/ Ipads
  • Strong work ethic, commitment and loyalty
  • Flexible in your availability to work
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card/Qualification


Due to working time regulations and the working hours associated with the role, we can only consider applicants aged 18 or over.

No prior experience will be required for this role, as full training will be provided.
