SLC have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join our expanding Change, Data and Repayments Directorate.

The post of Compliance Officer is part of a professional 2nd line team that leads on embedding a culture of compliance and provides assurance that 1st line management discharge their accountabilities for governance, risk management and control within their service/functional delivery.

Working to FCA and industry accepted best practice, the post holder will horizon scan for relevant compliance requirements maintaining the compliance obligations register and relevant control frameworks for SMT to demonstrate compliance with requirements, owning policy/supporting policy development as required as well as represent compliance at risk specialty fora as required.

SLC offer a Blend working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

What you bring:

A track record of strong performance within risk management/compliance/internal audit or counter fraud disciplines obtained within the public or private sector
Educated to degree level with relevant audit and assurance experience, ideally CCAB/IIA or IRM qualified
Experience of providing support, advice, and guidance to stakeholders.
Experience of delivering difficult messages and challenging stakeholder views ideally within a commercial, compliance or audit setting.
Excellent communication and influencing skills to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to your own initiative and take a proactive approach to your workload.
Knowledge of compliance, assurance, and risk management best practice.
