Location:
Langley, Slough


Hours:
Full-Time (40.5 hours per week on a rota shifts to meet the needs of the home)


Salary:
£25,272 - £26,851.50 pa (£ £12.75 per hour)


Plus:
An additional £55 per sleep in duty (2-3 sleep in duties per week, £5,720 - £8,580 pa)


Main purpose of job:


To provide high standards of nurturing care to children and young people, aged eight to eighteen years, who have experienced traumatic life experiences, and who present with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

To use therapeutic parenting approaches to care for children and young people to help them reach their full potential.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide daily care and support to children in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, acting as a role model and mentor.
  • Create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment within the residential home.
  • Assist with daily activities, including meal times, hygiene routines, and recreational activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to ensure the holistic needs of children are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to children's care and progress.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and support children in developing coping skills.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential setting
  • A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • GCSE Grades C and above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Achieved the Level 3/4 Diploma for Residential Childcare or a qualification that the registered provider considers to be equivalent.
