Description

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities Provide general administration support to the following areas: medical, clinical, education, training, HR, Clinical including Lympheodema, Governance, Cornwall Hospice Care management, executives and all other non-clinical Hospice based departments.

Support and cover the duties of the Ward Clerk as required.

Provide support to the Patient Services Manager as required in terms of delegated tasks, cover for other administrators and changes to the medical staffing rota, liaising with the Ward Sister and or Specialist Lead Nurse when medical staff are absent.

Support and minute/note take Cornwall Hospice Care committees, meetings, and MDTs to a high professional standard, when required.

Ensure accurate paper or computerised records of patient referrals i.e. advice, admission or domiciliary. Assist with notifications of patient death to hospital consultant, GP, community nurse specialist and district nurse.

General admin duties include stationery monitoring and orders; reception support for volunteers, sorting and distributing post and receiving deliveries, donations, fees, facilitate banking and complete reconciliation (SJH only).


Write reports and type documents and letters as necessary to support the medical, clinical and management teams, produce PowerPoint presentations as required.

Use internet skills to access, search and retrieve information. Set up conference calls and video conferences. Help to support reception volunteer cover, and in the absence of volunteers cover the reception.

Work with and support the Patient Services Manager on a day-to-day basis. Complete DBS checks as required. Provide administrative support for Facilities, H&S, Catering, Housekeeping, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Bereavement Counsellor. Monitoring seminar room usage, booking rooms and catering.

Prepare and update of the daily patient diary, liaising closely with Ward Clerk. General This job description is not exhaustive and may be amended as necessary. You may be asked to undertake other duties within the general level and scope of the post.
