We are seeking dynamic Youth Mentors to guide Year 6 students smoothly into Year 7 secondary settings.This role is an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact on students' lives, guiding them through one of their most critical educational transitions.
Your Role:
- Utilise your rich experience in both primary and secondary educational settings to nurture young minds.
- Champion The Movez Movement (TMM) initiatives and foster meaningful engagement with students and their families.
- Implement a tailored mentoring programme that addresses the individual needs of each student, both within and beyond the school premises.
- Plan and execute comprehensive activities for school holidays, integrating effectively with community resources.
- Regular completion of Smart Survey.
- Participation in compulsory supervision sessions and TMM training sessions is essential.
- Allocate a minimum of 4 full days in various educational settings as per caseload, assisting in all transitionrelated events.
We are looking for:
- Experience in working in primary and high school settings
- Flexibility and readiness to meet the outlined timelines.
- A commitment to facilitating TMM quality assurance visits as scheduled.
- An enthusiastic approach towards collaborating with educational institutions and community resources.
Key Requirements:
- A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to helping them achieve their potential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people and other stakeholders.
- Experience of working with young people facing personal, social, and educational challenges.
- Knowledge of the issues and challenges facing young people in the local area.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective onetoone and group mentoring sessions and activities, based on the individual needs of each young person.
- Good organisational and timemanagement skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures is preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferable, but not essential.
- A current DBS certificate is preferable, but not essential.
- A minimum of Level 3 Certificate in Mentoring/Level 3 NVQ Certificate Children and Young People.
- A minimum of 12 months experience working with children between the ages of 917 years old.
