A major airline is looking for a Data Engineering Technical Lead to play a hands-on role in establishing and guiding an impactful data team to revamp their data solutions.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will serve as the technical expert for Data solutions and champion the distributed data platform while staying on the ball with new and emerging technologies and innovations in the market.

The Role and Responsibilities

Design and implement Data solutions to support the range of usecases across the business.
Manage a small team of Data Engineers, including learning and development, upskilling, and quality control.
Ensuring Data Engineering solution designs are compliant and meet the requirements of the company and keeping data assets accessible to consumers.
Work with the C-Suite to help define data strategy and technical roll out of tools and systems.

Your Skills and Experience

Knowledge of data concepts, data science tooling, and data modelling and management principles.
Strong experience with Python, SQL, Apache Spark (or similar,) and modern software development and release engineering practices.
Experience with cloudbased big data technologies.
Team management and leadership experience.
