The Finance, Infrastructure and Corporate Services is a new directorate, following a consultation to streamline its professional and support services.

It brings together the following functions:

finance, research funding, procurement and purchasing, IT and corporate information systems, estate development and sustainability, facilities management, commercial services and university administrative support.

The University now seeks to appoint a Management Accounts Assistant - Research

The Management Accounts Assistant Research primary responsibility is to ensure all month and quarter end financial tasks are completed per the month end timetable, including:

Review of research salaries, for live/awarded Research Grants
Review of actual costs/income for awarded Research Grants, and forecasted awards
Responsibility for all month end journals, including salary recharge, and estate/overhead adjustments.
System responsibility for setting up new Research Awards, within the finance system, including General ledger codings, and Multiyear budgets.

Specification:
Qualified to AAT level 4, or qualified by experience.

Higher Education experience preferred.

Research Administration experience preferred.

Excellent Excel skills required.

Strong background in a finance environment, with experience of working to month end deadlines.
