Description
We are seeking a rehabilitation assistant with an educational background and experience of working with children with special educational needs.

Our client is aged 8 years and has cerebral palsy. She is a happy, funny and bubbly little girl who loves role play, dressing up, and playing with her little figures.
Our client uses a communication device, and some Makaton words and hand gestures to communicate her wants, needs, wishes and feelings..
Our client has various play stations around the home and outdoor activity stations in the garden for use in the warmer months.
Whilst our client will need to follow the school curriculum closely, how our client is engaged, motivated and assisted with education is important, and we seek someone who has experience in engaging children and 'getting down to their level' (quite literally).

The role is designed to support our client in all aspects of her homeschooling. This will take place on Mondays and Friday's 8:30 - 15:30 to cover the school days.
Our main priority for this role with our client is to ensure she has the best possible home-schooling opportunities to assist her educationally as she has great potential with the correct level of support and guidance.
Our client has some therapies in the home such as occupational, physio and speech and language therapy. The role will include joining some of these sessions and practicing some of the communication work, for example, in-between sessions.
Experience of working with children with cerebral palsy is preferred.
