Cathay Care Home is looking to appoint a Cook. (Bank Contract Part-Time)

As Cook, you will work alongside the Head Chef to deliver a high quality of food to our residents and ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner.

Our care home, based in the beautiful countryside of Moray, provides nursing and residential care for up 41 residents.

Our Home Manager firmly believes in giving you full autonomy and support to allow you to blossom in your role.

You'll be part of a close-knit care team, who are on a journey of creating excellence in nursing and residential care.

Cook Contract

£11.00 per hour
Bank Contract - Part Time

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

Desired

Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group.
Experience working in a care environment would be advantageous but not a dealbreaker.

Main Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.
Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks
Conduct Basic Food Hygiene training for all care staff involved in handling and delivery of food.
Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
Ensure stock rotation.
Assist in the ordering of stocks and checking of deliveries
Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately
