Park Modern is the finest new residential development on Hyde Park, overlooking the gardens of Kensington Palace.

The staff will be ambassadors for the brand and the development, responsible for creating an atmosphere of ease and exclusivity for all residents and their guests, whilst delivering the highest service standards possible, headed up by the General Manager.


The Role


Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Estates Operative/Handyman will have a practical role to ensure the upkeep of the fabric of the building is kept to an excellent standard.

They will have a wide variety of trade skills, to cover handyman jobs, repairs, painting & decorating, and statutory compliance.

You need a great eye for detail, be professional and friendly, and ensure that the development is maintained at all times.

The individual will have a practical role to ensure the safety and security of the building, residents and colleagues, as well as managing all building deliveries.

Having previous experience, you must maintain a professional and friendly approach, while effectively responding to various situations.


Duties Include

  • Conduct general site maintenance inside and out as directed by the Facilities Manager /General Manager.
  • Where directed, attend apartments to deal with residents' queries, ensuring minimum inconvenience.
  • Carry out regular inspections of all areas of the development to check that fixtures, fittings, and equipment for use are all in working order.
  • Ensure that all defects reported by residents and staff are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
  • Deal with and assist contractors and suppliers when these are on site
  • Ensure all stock, tools and materials are stored safely
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures and policies are respected and implemented in accordance with legislation and company requirements.
  • Proactively work with the Facilities Manager if required to ensure that the planned maintenance programme is implemented in the most efficient manner.
  • Full understanding of the development's safety and emergency.
  • Implement programmed maintenance cleaning.
  • Carry out corridor maintenance, cyclical carpet cleaning and floor polishing.
  • Communicate effectively with both the residents and work colleagues.
  • CCTV and alarm monitoring.
  • Assist and logging of all incoming and outgoing deliveries. Directing arrivals where necessary.
  • Deal with and assist contractors and suppliers when on site.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures and policies are respected and implemented in accordance with legislation and company requirements.
  • Full understanding of the development's safety and emergency procedures.
  • Ensuring pedestrians safe route is followed at all times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the area, ensuring it is kept neat and tidy at all times.
  • Maintaining high level of security awareness at all times and alerting the team of any suspicious activity
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within hotels or residential developments.
  • Selfdirected and able to work under pressure.
  • Committed to delivering high level of service with a warm and friendly approach.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
  • Ability to work within a team and develop positive relationships.
  • SIA certification a bonus
