It is an exciting time to join the Clinical Education Team at North Bristol NHS trust as we look to review and build on our educational support for internationally educated nurses.

We are looking for an energetic clinical practice facilitator to develop and deliver high quality training to support our internationally educated nurses through to NMC registration and beyond.

We are looking for someone who is well-organised, driven, compassionate and enthusiastic.

You should have significant post-registration nursing experience and be able to demonstrate an expert level of patient care, acting as a professional role model at all times.

Experience of delivering formal training sessions is essential. We are excited to expand our team to support international recruitment within the Trust in 2023


You will be well supported by our existing Clinical Education Team but there is an expectation that you will be confident to work autonomously, plan your own workload and interact with a wide range of professionals.

This role is a 12 month secondment


The clinical practice facilitator (international recruitment) will be a key member of the Clinical Education team and will lead the education, training and professional development for the internationally educated nurses.

The clinical practice facilitator will develop and drive forward an education programme to ensure that internationally educated nurses acquire the professional standards essential for NMC registration.


The role has strong clinical skills focus and is key to the designing and delivery of training programs to progress internationally educated nurses through the NMC Part 2 Test of Competence The role also encompasses the development of the wider clinical workforce, working collaboratively across disciplines and professions through clinical support, education and training, mentorship and clinical supervision.

The role will facilitate and support non-medical clinical learners across the nursing and healthcare support worker professions, at all grades and educational pathway.

  • To contribute to an environment in which effective practice is fostered, implemented evaluated and disseminated through a range of approaches.
  • To assess, review and give constructive feedback about clinical skills and competencies of staff.
  • To undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust and unit policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • To embed clinical practice locally through use of policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • To provide 'hands on' supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
  • To keep own clinical skills current.
  • To ensure that clinical skills training and competency attainment is based on evidencedbased guidelines/competencies that are fit for practice.
  • Support clinical areas in expediting the acquisition of skills by supporting local training and assessment
  • To support internationally educated nurses to successfully pass NMC Test of Competence (Part 2)
  • To coordinate/provide training and educational programmes for the clinical specialty to develop a highly skilled and knowledgeable nursing team.
  • To participate in formal and informal teaching and training for local and Trust wide developments.
