Description
We are working closely alongside a highly reputable law firm based in London in their search for a Real Estate Legal Secretary.
As a Legal Secretary you will be reporting directly to a Partner and fee earners within the department to provide support to the team and working with existing departmental staff members to provide effective support services.
Key tasks, duties and quality standards in meeting department purpose/objectives:
- Opening/closing files
- Drafting SDLT1's
- Requesting conveyancing searches
- Drafting correspondence, contract packages etc
- Preparing and submitting KYC and Compliance
- Creating and amending letters, bills, instructions to counsel, attendance notes, documents etc
- Updating file management spreadsheets
- Filing/file administration
- Digital dictation using Winscribe
- Diary management, including booking/amending meetings; checking in advance for special requirements including train tickets, lunch, etc
- Photocopying, scanning and redacting documents as and when required
- Answering telephone calls and directing them/taking messages as necessary
- Organising travel where required
- Printing documents or correspondence for fee earners
- Assisting the shipping department with secretarial support where required
Person Specification:
- Legal Secretary experience essential as well as real estate experience
- Excellent organisational skills and is able to meet deadlines
- Works well under pressure Attention to detail
- Experience of a case management system
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Experience of Microsoft Excel
- Audio typing experience
