Salary - £28,000 - £33,000 (dependent on experience)

Location - West Berkshire
My engineering Client is looking to take on a Buyer for their procurement team in the West Berkshire area.

Manufacturing - Engineering - Purchasing - Communication & Negotiation - Cost Effective Strategies - Supply Chain - Buying

The Buyer will ideally have the following attributes:

Experience working in a similar Buyer role within a manufacturing environment; with good knowledge of purchasing components for assembly
Previous experience with supplier negotiations and agreements including monitoring supplier performance
CIPS qualification, a related Degree, or equivalent work based experience
Have the ability to prioritise workload
Be able to work well under pressure to achieve deadlines
Excellent communication skills to be able to work with a variety of people at varying levels
Being adaptable to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Computer literate with a good level of experience working with MS Excel and Word
Experience using ERP & MRP systems would be desirable

Strong analytical skills

The Buyer role will involve:

Sourcing and building long-lasting supplier relationships with regular contact and reviews
Ensuring the timely ordering and receipt of parts required for production and notifying relevant people of any delays
Helping to identify areas of improvement and developing purchasing processes for cost-saving purposes
Make sure that the sourcing and contracting policies, practises, risk management plans, QHSE policies, and ethical policies are followed
Actively contribute to the accomplishment of team goals
Perform Ad-hoc duties when specified by Managers
Creation of supplier documents needed to complete purchase orders
Negotiation of supplier quotes and securing best possible prices

Assisting in improving bid accuracy by advising supplier risks, costs, and lead times
