JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is based inside one of the many UK Prisons that we currently operate in: HMP Elmley. We are currently looking for full time or part time applicants. You will be working with a group of prisoners, helping them to write, learn and develop through music. InHouse Records is a label for change that focuses on rehabilitation through the power of music.
PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION OF THIS POSITION:
HMP ELMLEY, ISLE OF SHEPPEY. YOU MUST HAVE A FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE
What You'll Do;
As an A&R Rep / Tutor you will be responsible for carrying out a daily workshop, working closely with a small group of prisoners - focusing on writing music, teaching them about the music industry, nurturing talent that you discover and encouraging the learning of musical instruments.
We personalise our workshops to meet everyone's needs so an open mind is essential.We track our participants progress through reporting, focusing on their Accountability, Adaptability and Communication. Weekly reporting is essential for us to feed this back to prison staff.
Responsbilities
- Music Development
- Oversee teaching, songwriting and recording
- Ensure participants follow their learning and development plans
- Personal Development
- Record session insights in weekly reports
Requirements (Not all Essential)
- You must be able to play an instrument and be open to teaching others
- Knowledge around the music industry (you don't have to know all the ins and outs however a basic knowledge would be fantastic)
- Be able to record using software such as Logic Pro X OR at least have experience or knowledge around the recording process
- Experience working with a diverse group of people (desirable however not essential)
- Strong Communication, accountability and adaptability.
- Full UK Driving License is essential to get to the position on time
