Job Title:
Automation Tester - Postman and API


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute automated tests for APIs using Postman. Verify data integrity, security, and functionality of RESTful APIs.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Postman and other relevant tools. Collaborate with the development team to integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and mitigate software defects. Conduct thorough regression testing and ensure the overall quality of the software.
  • Document test cases, test plans, and test scripts. Keep documentation uptodate and ensure it aligns with the latest software requirements.
  • Utilise issue tracking tools to report, track, and manage software defects. Work closely with developers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with performance testing teams to ensure the scalability and responsiveness of APIs under different load conditions.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to API testing and test automation. Share knowledge with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Automation Tester, specifically using Postman for API testing.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python).
  • Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Skills (Preferred but not required):

  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level or higher
  • Experience with other testing tools and frameworks.
  • Performance testing knowledge and experience with performance tools.
  • Knowledge of security testing practices.
  • Previous experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
