M8 Recovery Ltd are recruiting full time breakdown controller / Call Handler. There are 2 positions available with various shift patterns.


Due to continued growth, and a new purpose-built control room we are offering positions in our Control Team, with the potential to progress within business.

M8 Recovery Ltd offer nationwide vehicle assistance.

With a fleet consisting of recovery vehicles, commercial service vans and specialist vehicles, we aim to fix vehicles roadside or recover our customers vehicles to a destination of their choice.


You will be the first point of call for major motoring organisations, the motor trade, and the public for vehicles that have crashed or broken down at the roadside.

As a controller, you must have the ability to multi-task alongside a confident and friendly telephone manner.

Controllers dispatch the most appropriate recovery vehicle and personnel to the scene and act as a liaison between the Recovery Driver / Technician and the motoring organisation.

Often there are multiple events happening simultaneously and so performing well under pressure is a must.


Your duties as a Breakdown Controller will include:

  • Offer front-line customer support following a breakdown.
  • Allocate correct resources to ensure that all calls and tasks are attended to by the appropriate recovery driver and vehicle.
  • Ensure customers are informed timely of job progression/development through to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Ensure that the necessary processes and procedures are understood and are followed thereby providing a consistent and professional service to the customer.
  • Quoting and booking jobs onto the industry bespoke software.
  • Liaising with the recovery personnel.

About You

  • Computer Literate
  • Using a multidisplay computer system quickly and efficiently, including office 365, industry bespoke software and tracking system.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills.
  • A good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Preferably some prior experience with call handling/customer service/call centre.
  • A good selfstarter with the ability to multitask is a must.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Good Knowledge of the surrounding area & the ability to use popular mapping systems is an advantage.
  • Some motor vehicle knowledge would be advantageous.
