HMP Forest Bank are currently recruiting a
_Prison Employment Lead_ to improve the employability of prisoners and supporting prison leavers into employment on release. As the Prison Employment Lead, you will lead on the construction of an end-to-end Prison Employment pathway, which starts to promote the very real prospect of employment on release to prisoners from the beginning of their journey through the establishment.
In order to prepare prison leavers for work on release, the prison service have invested significantly in a variety of activities that give prisoners the opportunity to develop work skills and gain experience.
Within the prison estate employment is managed as part of the reduction of re-offending agenda, which alongside education and a range of other support agencies, specifically provides prisoners with the necessary skills and knowledge to live a law-abiding life after leaving prison.
A key aspect of this service is to support prison leavers into meaningful, sustained employment on release by working with employers in the community.
HMP Forest Bank serves the courts of Greater Manchester and maintains strong links to the local community with a focus on resettlement.
Opportunities for learning and developing work-ready skills are on offer for all who come in to custody, but our commitment to reducing reoffending in local communities does not end at the prison gate.
We support people released from custody through innovative partnerships in substance misuse services in Bury and Oldham, working with people to maintain recovery and lead law-abiding lives.
As well as the 16 residential units on site, there is a healthcare centre, gym, library, workshop complex, visits hall, chaplaincy and kitchen.
The prison's capacity stands at 1,460, holding adult men both on remand or sentenced and young prisoners between the ages of 18-21 years.

- To engage with stakeholders within the prison to establish a system that identifies work ready prisoners and highlights actions needed to support prisoners to achieve work readiness.
- Manage an Employment Hub which centralises employment support services within the prison and promotes live vacancies to prison leavers within the resettlement period.
- Track any vacancies as part of central reporting
- Champion innovations in employment and industry focused recruitment practices, such as hospitality/construction drives etc.

Salary:
£32,000 - £36,000 depending on experience
