Company:


  • A large established manufacturer of bathroom fittings based in Birmingham require an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.

Scope of job:


  • The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting engineering and production through developing and improving robust production methods for new and existing products.

Duties:


  • Work with the production teams to develop cost effective solutions for NPI and current products that meet the requirements of the design and quality standards.
  • Use 'Design for Manufacture' principles to ensure components and products can be made effectively.
  • Working with the design and production teams to identify and produce tooling, jigs, fixtures and gauges required to support manufacturing.
  • Management and control of 3D printing machine and processes.
  • Responsibility for development of the CAM system and rollout.
  • Daytoday management of CAD/CAM Setter/Programmer.
  • Involvement in tooling specification and management for CNC machines.

Requirements:


  • Educated to at least HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline and/or a time served apprenticeship.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Ability to use CAD and CAM packages
  • Ability to program, set and operate CNC lathes and both 3 and 5 axis machining centres.
  • Have a good understanding of machining and production process/systems and lean manufacturing methods.
  • Familiar with the use of Microsoft software packages, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Hours:


  • 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 1pm on a Friday.
This is a permanent position that starts immediately.
