Play Leader
This is a Deputy Manager role working split shifts covering breakfast and after school club sessions in term time and on a rota at our holiday club.

Play Leader Job Purpose:
Play Leaders assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the club and deputise in the absence of the Manager.
Play Leaders organise, plan and take part in play and leisure activities for children before and after school, as well as during the school holidays.
Play Leader Job Duties:
- Setting up the club to create a safe and secure play environment ready for when children arrive
- Supervise children effectively to ensure they are safe
- Support the Manager in the daytoday running of the club
- Provide support, guidance and leadership to Playworkers. This may include delivering supervisions and appraisals
- Support a variety of play opportunities for children aged years
- Participate in children's play as and when requested by the children.
- Plan and deliver a range of exciting activities based on the children's interests.
- Deputise in the absence of the Manager
- Commitment to safeguarding the children in our care
Skills/Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Playwork/Childcare or other equivalent training
- Great leadership qualities
- Previous childcare and/or Playwork experience
- Caring and sensitive to children's individual needs
- Good Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
- Good Knowledge and understanding of the Playwork Principles
- Good communication skills
- Flexible and reliable
- Prepared to train and learn new skills
Desirable skills/qualifications
- Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or
- Basic safeguarding training and/or DSL training
Supporting your Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Full and comprehensive induction
- Regular supervisions

Hours & Pay
Salary ranges from £11.35 per hour to £12.25 per hour
Split shift: 07:2- 08:55 and 15:00 - 18:00 from Monday to Friday in term time
