Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking an Assistant Accountant on behalf of their client.
This role's main purpose is to provide essential day-to-day accounting support to the Finance Manager, such as preparing financial statements and accounts, budgeting,and maintaining the integrity of the ledgers through the promotion of best practice.
Role responsibilities:
Balance Sheet - Ensure that all balance sheet and control accounts are reconciled on a timely basis; proactively identifying, explaining and resolving issues and corrections.
Fixed Asset Accounting - Maintain the Fixed Asset register including accounting for all fixed asset additions, depreciation, disposals and transfers.
Cash Flow Forecast - Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast and oversee daily cashbook reconciliations.Monthly Management Accounts - Prepare and post nominal journals, Prepare and review cost centres with budget owners regularly to assess actual performance against budget and prepare accurate financial reports, actions and commentary.
Annual and Interim Reporting - Prepare timely inputs to support the financial reporting & budgeting process; including coordinating the delivery of information to the auditors.
Internal Audit - Deliver against an audit schedule of organisational activity that assesses quality of practice against our financial guidelines and supporting documentation.
InternalFinancial Controls - Oversee and maintain systems that ensure compliance policy in relation to procurement cards, bank signatories, cash and other payments.
Financial Systems - Play a pivotal role in the development and roll out of financial systems ensuring adequate control measures are integrated and the systems are well documentedProjects - Support the implementation and roll out of projects ensuring that clear training and documentation is prepared.
Finance Guidance for Support Services - Develop resources and deliver training, be the finance lead on service changes and be our in-house personal benefits expert.
Customer Service - Managing incoming and outgoing communications, responding in a professional and timely manner, and filing all supporting records efficiently in line with the GDPR and filing systems.
Providing good quality customer service to internal andexternal customers, both virtually and in-person.Mentoring - Providing ongoing support and guidance to the Finance team, setting an example of high standards and acting as a positive role model.
Proactively working with and supporting the Finance team to ensure that departmental objectives and deliverablesare met.More jobs from Synergie
