Post Completion Assistant

Up to £30,000 (DOE)

St Albans

Full-time Office Based Role

Key Responsibilities:


  • Undertake the registration of purchase and letting transactions in priority periods.
  • Deal with file closures for purchase, sale and letting files.
  • Assist with postcompletion queries on closed files.
  • Prepare and lodge SDLT returns and discharge SDLT due within time frames.
  • Deal with requisitions within HMLR time limits with assistance of feeearners.
  • Respond promptly to queries from mortgage lenders and clients with progress.
  • Serving and chasing Landlords and Management companies for Notices of Assignment/Charge/Underletting and dealing with further enquiries.
  • Send out completed registrations and necessary deeds to clients or mortgage lenders.
  • Update internal teams on changes to the registration process.
  • Effectively manage the repayment of retention's on leasehold files.
  • Ability to highlight to Supervisors/Head of Departments, any case where there is risk of removal from the lender panel or a negligence claim.

Key Requirements:


  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Can prioritise workload and produce accurate work whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • Competent with Outlook, Word, PDF documents and Excel.
  • Works well in a team.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Competent knowledge of legal practice.
  • Great interpersonal abilities, including a good telephone manner and face to face communication with both colleagues and clients.
  • Must be good with grammar and spelling.
  • Has an enthusiastic and proactive approach to all work.
