"Our Future Service" is a Pre-employability and Self-development Service for people who wish to develop their skills in areas such as employment, volunteering or social engagement within their community.

Main purpose of the Job:

Deliver 1-1 job coaching to support our clients to learn their roles in paid/ unpaid work.

Co-produce client action plans/ development plans, recording long and short-term impacts in key areas.

Deliver short-term community-based 1:1 or small group activities to build confidence, skills and provide access to opportunities

Source voluntary, community and social opportunities for our client group, based on their skills and interests.

Use person-centred and community asset-based approaches.


Key Areas of responsibility:


1. Community based Activities

  • Working with the Our Future Team, develop a community offer for clients unable/not ready to access workshops or employment support.
  • Provide tailored activities focusing on life skills and access to opportunities i.e.
  • Travel training
  • Attending courses or local community venues
  • Supporting work placements/voluntary work or Workshop
  • Developing key skills/short interventions i.e. money, shopping, Digital skills
  • Link all activity outcomes to Individual action plans

2. Clients

  • Complete initial assessments for new referrals and agree suitability
  • Asset based approach when matching clients' aspirations and individual needs to provision
  • Coproduce Personcentred plans and action plans
  • Vocational plans completed and employment opportunities explored
  • Complete Wellbeing assessment at agreed points.
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments and other associated paperwork are accurate, uptodate and signed by all relevant parties
  • Delivery in local communities and home to increase engagement and participation

3. Stakeholders

  • Develop excellent working relationships with community and statutory partners, families and other professionals, ensuring the expected quality of service is achieved at all times
  • Establish strong working relationships with employers
  • Develop strong community links for sign posting and to enhance local community participation

4. Administration

  • A good understanding and an ability to use Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Paperwork/correspondence is completed accurately, to deadlines and chronologically.

5. Remote Working
& Flexibility

  • Time management; to effectively manage administration duties alongside case load, travel and employer work duties.
  • Some evening and weekend may be required.

6. Teamwork

  • Attend and participate in regular meetings and training events, which develop the service or improve team performance.
  • Working together to achieve outcomes.
  • Offer support and advice to colleagues.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the reasons why disadvantaged and disabled people might be discriminated against in society and employment and use practical solutions to tackle this.

  • Report any safeguarding concerns to Management at the first available opportunity.
  • Such other duties as required by the Line Manager

£17,110.00 per year
