Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic colleague to join our Vascular team at St George's Hospital on a Fixed Term basis.

We are a large and friendly team, working closely together to help drive development and deliver high quality care for older adults across St George's Trust and our local community.

Consultant in Vascular Surgery

Duration:
Fixed term 12 months

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated vascular surgeon.

This post will cover general and on-call vascular work at St George's as well as providing a service for Croydon University Hospital, as a spoke site.

Duties at Croydon University Hospital will include clinics, ward rounds, with potential for the development of a day surgery list.

This job is for ten (10) Programmed Activities.

The St George's Vascular Institute (SGVI) encompasses an incorporated clinical, research and educational facility on the St George's site. There is an integrated programme of education, research and clinical services designed to encompass all facets of vascular disease.

The successful applicant will be part of a team of eight vascular consultants, who cover aortic disease, endovascular treatments, lower limb disorders, and all aspects of general vascular disease.

On 15 May 2023 we launched our new five-year strategy for St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group.

It is designed to give everyone connected to the group clarity about our ambitions for the future, and what we want to achieve.

Working as a group gives us the opportunity to think about the role we'll play in our local communities and across the wider NHS.

We want to provide local services for the people of Surrey Downs, Sutton, Merton and Wandsworth, and be a major tertiary centre for south west London - particularly known for our specialist major trauma, renal, neuroscience, paediatric and cancer services.

As university hospitals, we'll focus on research and education, working closely with St George's, University of London.

While our Trusts will have distinct identities, we'll work as one family to maximise the benefits of being a group, and work with partners to join up care around patients' needs.

We will act as anchor institutions - this means we'll have a positive impact on our local communities beyond healthcare.
