Our
Spalding site are now recruiting for a
Transport Team Leader - Nightson a full time, permanent basis.


Working hours: 4 on 4 off - 19:00 to 07:00


The purpose of a
Transport Team Leader is to be responsible for leading and supervising all aspects of the night function whilst providing support to the night management team.


Key duties of a Transport Team Leader:

  • Ensuring best practice across all night operations functions
  • Ensuring all traffic desk functions are completed successfully, including but not confined to;
  • Local and distance collections
  • Traffic sheet/system husbandry
  • Live traffic desk function efficient changes to existing plan
  • All breakdowns and other traffic issues that arise are dealt with in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Load build alterations and amendments
  • Tracking and Tracing
  • Discrepancy/rejection notification and reporting
  • Dispatch function
  • Maintain all key internal communications with day shift functions (traffic, retail fleet)
  • Maintain and develop relationships with Spalding customer base

Qualifications

  • 1 years minimum FMCG distribution experience
  • Experience of communicating with drivers
  • Demonstrate cost control methodology within a traffic office environment
  • Knowledge of temperature controlled transportation is advantageous
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations to allow efficient integration of both functions is desirable
  • Sound knowledge of the general logistics sector
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant legislations within the transport sector
  • Able to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised environment
