    Purpose of the role


    Colas are looking for a Zonal Response Team (ZRT) Operative to work predominantly nights but would sometimes require flexibility to come on to days for a period of time for business requirements. The role will be based at our Coleshill depot, B46 3HN. You will work to instruction from the Dispatcher in the Regional Operational Centre and your supervisors, ensuring works orders are carried out on time and to required levels of quality. You will work safely at all times, complying with site rules and permitting regulations, always representing Colas in a professional manner.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Safely carry out temporary defect repairs.
    • Apply safe methods of working to all activities.
    • Understand and follow COSHH regulations.
    • Understand and follow HAVS regulations.
    • Drive within the confines of the Road Traffic Act.
    • Operate machinery as required and directed by the Supervisor.
    • Install/Remove traffic management as required.
    • Be available to work four days on and four days off, both daytime and nights including bank holiday working.
    • Ensure all operations are conducted with full regard for the safety of visitors, other staff and yourself, and for the environment, preventing pollution, complying with legal and corporate requirements and minimising environmental impact.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Flexible and hardworking individuals with experience in a similar highway's maintenance environment and C1E driving experience.
    • Enthusiastic and able to work within a small team under minimal supervision.
    • A valid UK Driving Licence (Essential) and HGV Class 2 Licence are required unless you come from a strong Traffic Management work background.
    • Good physical health to cope with sometimes physically demanding work.
    • DCPC, Traffic Management TTMBC is desirable.
