Role:
MDM Data Strategy Team Lead


Main Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Act as line manager for the Data Strategy team, set objectives, conduct performance appraisals for 3 resources, regular team meetings and ensure appropriate time allocation for projects.
  • Resource manage eCatalogue contract relets, change requests, continuous improvement projects, reporting projects, training sessions, customer enquiry, quality assurance among other activities. Maintain accompanying resources to assist BAU activities (site maps, entitlement rules, reports etc.).
  • Assess and implement change requests for emerging eCommerce projects. Schedule in new projects into the work stream as they are identified or as they arise.
  • Identify system risks, issues and opportunities to improve processes alongside the customer experience on eCatalogue.
  • Represent the Master Data Management team at the IT Change Board to ensure priority Change Requests are pushed forward and track critical tickets with IT to their resolution. Organise outages and support system upgrades, implement notifications for upcoming changes in process and resolve user issues and queries.
  • Provide knowledge and support for team on individual tasks spanning eCatalogue / customer enquiry systems / MDM related Projects (e.g. Airworthiness, Contingent Ops Stock etc.) / Product Data Management / QA / training / reporting. Track completeness of projects and monitor ongoing elements.
  • Lead fortnightly eCatalogue update meeting with TVS SLT to highlight Risks, Issues and Opportunities, overall progress and next steps regarding eCatalogue.
  • Represent the MDM team for meetings for ongoing projects (e.g. Gases/Food) and customer facing calls.
  • Provide knowledge / direction / support to external teams for emerging requirements / issues where required. Identify SPOFs and implementing cross training to mitigate. Provide document lifecycle management of Work Instructions to ensure they're uptodate and relevant.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


  • Ability to manage a team driving continuous improvement and training across the MDM team
  • Indepth knowledge of ecommerce Electronic Parts Catalogue, contributing Enterprise Resource Planning, Product Data Management and Warehouse Management systems, Customer Enquiry, Identity and Access Management systems
  • High computer literacy skills essential, particularly Microsoft Excel, SharePoint with experience in Technical Databases
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to identify training requirements to develop the Data Strategy Team's skillset


  • Project management

  • APMP or similar qualification
  • Stakeholder management, customer engagement, change and configuration management skills are essential.


  • Process improvement capability

  • Understanding of Six Sigma or similar qualification desired
  • Desired but not essential
  • Experience with writing in any of the following languages: SQL / C# / Visual Basic / HTML / CSS
