Maintenance Packing Team Leader


Due to business growth and expansion, a leading FMCG Manufacturer in Rotherham is seeking a Maintenance Packing Team leader to join their Engineering team.

This is a brand new role to support growth in the packaging department where you will lead a small team of two Engineers.


We are flexible on your background and experience, but ideally you will have experience of working on similar packaging equipment such as bagging machines, conveyors, baggers, metal detectors, x ray machines, case packers, flow wraps, multi vacs, labellers, palletisers or sealers.

Mechanical bias is preferred for this one, but the client is flexible

Salary dependent on experience


Shifts:

Days only, 4x 12 hour shifts per week on rotation (6am-6pm)

You would get every other weekend off

  • Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Week 3: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Week 4: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Lots of overtime available


Role Purpose:


The Maintenance Packing Team Leader is accountable and responsible for managing of his/her team (reviews, holidays, assign work), report/Improve maintenance issues.

Lead by example always to improve employee relations through best practice, conduct any investigations, return to work reviews as required, and be the first point of contact from other functional Managers to Engineers.


Packaging Team Leader - Core responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety: To proactively manage to ensure that a safe working environment exists for all associates in the bakery and that as a minimum the operation meets the standards set out in the company Health and Safety policy
  • To coordinate and execute the packing operation preventative, predictive, lubrication and improvement requests.
  • To ensure all maintenance activities are recorded in and managed using the maintenance system. This includes the receipt and issue of stock from inventory for plan works.
  • Responsible for the continual development of the packing operations, working closely with the wider plant engineering team, operations, Quality & C.I team to ensure maintenance activities are aligned
  • To lead the development of the bakery's packing operations with the implementation and frequent updating of Predictive and Proactive maintenance principles / activities.
  • To provide weekly management reports on progress with completing the maintenance activities (e.g. PPM Completion rate, Downtime (IPFM), Downtime by asset etc.).
  • Maintain in optimal condition the fixed assets of the company such as machinery, production equipment, and plant facilities & services through the efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Work with the wider site Engineering team to construct, manage and deliver the annual Maintenance budget and Capital program.
