Are you a senior HR / OD/ L&D/ EDI professional who has the ability to deliver transformational improvements to culture, staff experience and help LWH realise its ambition to become one of the UK's most inclusive employers?

As a small specialist Trust you will have the autonomy to design and deliver your own programmes of work as part of a supportive senior leadership team.

Working closely with the Deputy Director of Workforce and Head of Learning and Organisational Development you will deliver ambitious programmes of improvement across 5 key areas which will enable us to deliver the objectives of our 5 yearPutting People FirstStrategy

To lead and manage a range of specialist areas of the workforce and OD agenda with the overall objective of improving employee engagement, wellbeing and to further LWH's strategic vision of being a truly inclusive employer.

To ensure that culture, engagement, inclusion and wellbeing are fully integrated into a cohesive employment offer which promotes high employee performance and retention

  • To have project management responsibility for the continued rollout and further embedding of a Fair and Just Culture within the organisation.
  • To have strategic oversight of (staff) equality, diversity and inclusion agenda, ensuring ED&I is integrated into all aspects of employee engagement and wellbeing activities. To lead a range of work programmes which aim to increase diversity and promote inclusive leadership at all levels of the organisation. As part of this, to manage the Widening Participation Agenda, promoting routes to employment and training with LWH.
  • To lead on the wellbeing agenda, managing outsourced contracts relating to occupational health and wellbeing services, and ensuring employee wellbeing is prioritised and delivered.
  • To lead the staff engagement agenda, working closely with the divisions and HR Business Partners to enhance and increase opportunities for two way communication, recognition and involvement, leading to improvements in quality.
  • To form relationships with key stakeholders in the Divisions and Trust Board

We already have an established wellbeing programme in place and it will be your job to take it to the next level to ensure that wellbeing is bespoke and tailored to the particular needs of our workforce, supporting their physical and mental wellbeing so they can thrive in the workplace

Staff engagement is at the core of our Putting People First Strategy.

You will ensure that the activities across the People Directorate and within the divisions are co-ordinated, focused and delivering results.


As a senior HR / L&D / OD professional you will have expertise in one or more of these specialist areas combined with experience at a senior level within the workforce arena.


You will have the ability to establish immediate credibility, engage stakeholders internal and external to the organisation and will be able to influence at senior leadership and board level.

As a dynamic change agent you will be able to set strategic direction as well as operationally deliver and get things done.


You will also provide effective leadership for your HR sub-team, with a focus on empowerment and engagement and should have previous line management experience.
