Quality Control Inspector


Quartztec Europe, based in East Kilbride, Scotland are a manufacturer of fabricated quartz glass products and thermocouples for the Semiconductor Industry.

The company has been in operation for over 35 years and is a key supplier into the Semiconductor Industry. The Quartzware and Thermocouples manufactured in our East Kilbride facility are used in equipment to produce silicon chips.

Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a Quality Control Inspector. The position is a permanent role.


Responsibilities / Duties


You will be highly diligent towards company health & safety requirements; you will be punctual and will have a strong work ethic and be focused on ensuring the company continues to produce and ship high quality products.

You will use various hand tools to inspect our products from component stage through to finished products. You will work as part of a team with a focus on meeting departmental targets on cost and quality. Full training will be provided.


The company is focused on Continuous Improvement /Lean manufacture therefore we are looking for someone who is forward thinking and able to suggest improvement ideas.


Experience / skills required.

  • Previous experience in a QA /FI process would be beneficial.
  • Good hand
- eye coordination and an attention to detail.

  • Being able to read and interpret engineering drawings would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience using basic inspection hand inspection tools such as vernier callipers would be beneficial.
  • An understanding of the importance of quality and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Understanding the important of Health & Safety within the workplace is important.
  • An understanding of continuous improvement methods and procedures would be beneficial.
  • Good IT skills, with an understanding of MS Office tools.

Package

  • 5 day working week, Mon to Friday 37.5hrs, day shift hours.
  • Salary: circa £25,000 (dependent on experience)
  • 28 days paid holiday
