About the department

The Private Markets & Real Estate Structuring team is truly multi-disciplinary, covering Investment, Capital Markets, Legal and Tax components in Private Markets & Real Estate.

As a centralised team, a consistent structuring service will be provided globally across all asset classes:
Real Estate, Private Equity, Infrastructure and Private Credit.

The Private Markets & Real Estate Structuring Advisor is responsible for supporting the procurement and management of fund and asset level financing solutions, the development and delivery of fund and asset structures and general fund transactions in a risk-controlled manner and which meet the commercial objectives of the Private Markets & Real Estate business.

About the role

The Structuring Adviser supports product development, innovation, investment activity and commercialisation across Private Markets & Real Estate.

They build strong partnership with investment teams to support rapid growth and delivery of investment performance.

Duties and responsibilities focus around the following areas and include:

Contribute to a global centre to service all end-to-end investment management strategies across Private Markets & Real Estate activity
Enhance investment returns by enhancing and protecting alpha
Support the development of financing strategies in conjunction with the investment teams at fund and asset level consistent with the fund and asset strategy and RE & Private Markets House view
Coordinating Private Market & Real Estate transactions across the investment lifecycle
Generate and support product development and innovation across Private Markets & Real Estate-
Adherence to house policy, investment policy, specific regulatory restrictions and building collaborative working relationships with central support functions including Operations, Tax and Legal to ensure ongoing compliance
Private Markets & Real Estate Structuring Advisor will be responsible for the following key areas:
Design and delivery of commercially viable international Private Markets & Real Estate fund structuring solutions which meet the commercial objectives of the business and the fund's target investors and make a positive net contribution to asset/fund returns.
Provide transactional management support to Private Markets and Real Estate investment activity in line with commercial and legal objectives
Providing strategic and sector focused advice and transactional support throughout the capital life cycle working closely and proactively with fund and portfolio managers in the development and implementation of financing/re-financing and hedging strategies which meet the commercial and legal objectives and requirements of the relevant funds aligned to the fund and asset management strategies
Contribute to the design, maintenance and development of the Private Markets & Real Estate business model and function as a hub of in-depth knowledge in relation to Private Markets & Real Estate business operations, worldwide. As a specialist role it will use the detailed knowledge and experience of the Private Markets & Real Estate business to mitigate commercial risk through the provision of integrated support from a transactional, management and broader Private Markets and Real Estate business perspective.
Develop strong working relationships with the wider Private Markets & Real Estate teams and key stakeholders to the Private Markets & Real Estate business to ensure effective delivery of fund and asset level transactions and structuring solutions, working closely and proactively with fund managers, portfolio managers, Global Product (in particular Product Strategy & Solutions), Investment Specialists, Private Market Operations teams, Investment Governance & Oversight, Risk & Compliance, Procurement & Supplier Management, other internal and external stakeholders and external service providers.

Skills and Experience- Practical knowledge of fund and asset structuring and/or debt financing and hedging techniques.- Knowledge of the commercial and legal aspects of Private Markets and/or Real Estate transactions.- Understanding of corporate and insolvency law principles as they relate to Private Markets and/or Real Estate transactions and good corporate governance.
