Salary:
Grade 6 - £26,421 - £28,770 FTE


We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated person to join our team as a Stock Controller, based in Middlewich.


The focus of this role will involve working with the management team to ensure that adequate supplies of consumable goods are forecast, ordered and maintained to optimum levels to ensure the smooth running of all service areas, taking into account quality and value.


This will require maintaining an accurate record of all stock items and conducting regular stocktakes both on site and at other locations within the Cheshire East Borough.

The Stock Controller will be periodically required to assist with Site Support activities.


The main duties will include:

  • Ordering Fuel, equipment, tools, PPE, and other consumable items from various suppliers in line with targets and for adhoc requirements
  • Organising and checking deliveries of stock
  • Conducting regular stock takes
  • Ensuring the stock levels are met and maintained
  • Producing reports and data for the management team highlighting any potential overstocks, shortfall, discrepancies or other issues
  • Maintaining an accurate inventory of both stock items and supplier details
  • Identifying poor quality products supplied and taking remedial action
  • Ensuring that purchases arrive on time and are fit for purpose
  • Moving stock around the site as required.
  • Good organisational skills ideally in a stock / inventory control environment
  • Good planning skills
  • Experience of negotiating with suppliers and building good relationships
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of using inventory and stock management software
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • A current full driving licence
  • A forklift truck licence would be an advantage.
