The position is on a fixed-term basis until 31st
December 2024. Job share will be considered.


The School of Chemistry, Food & Pharmacy seeks a highly motivated and professional Administrator to join its School Executive Administration Team.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide high quality, professional administrative support to the Chemistry Department and to the School in general, as required.

This role will require specific administrative and specialist area knowledge, with a good understanding of University systems and processes. Staff will have some control of their own workload and priorities and work without close daily supervision.

The role will support the enhancement of the services provided, through the development of new processes and the implementation of service improvements.


You will have:


  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Ability to ensure effective liaison and communication
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills with a range of IT packages and systems (incl. Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to provide a high standard of customer service
  • Ability to maintain administrative and, where necessary, financial records
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and meet set deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team goals
