**Role description: Reporting to a Senior Document Manager we have a requirement for a Document Controller to join our Rail - North West & Central business unit based from our Warrington office.


You will have a proven track record of working within a document control environment, possess excellent attention to detail, be an effective communicator and have a proactive approach to work.


You will be responsible for providing Document Control Services in line with document control and information management requirements, and effectively manage all aspects of the main filling system for all drawings and design related documentation (both electronic and hard copies).

**Role Accountabilities: - Establish working procedures to effectively manage the control of documents.

  • Maintain upto date hard copy records if required.
  • Create and maintain document control registers.
  • Identify and rectify discrepancies in document titles and reference numbers.
  • Scan and upload documents when required.
  • Liaising/ coordinating with internal staff and external clients.
  • Maintain controlled copies of drawings (internal & external).
  • Responsible for the management and control of all incoming and outgoing drawings and other forms of documentation.
  • Controlling the issue of reviewable design data to the client, the receipt of comments and maintaining up to date records of communication.
  • Working collaboratively within the team to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Have knowledge of DMS (Data Management Systems), such as ProjectWise, eB, 4Projects etc.
  • Ensure that the necessary contract documentation is collated and prepared in the necessary time scales required by the contracts.
  • Ensure that any submission of documentation required is collated and prepared in line with agreed time scale
  • Establish archiving procedures.
**Qualifications & Experience: - Demonstrable relevant Document Control experience

  • Experience in a Rail / Construction industry environment is desirable
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise with peers and immediate seniors and build relationships
  • Relevant EDMS experience
  • Selfmotivated and proactive, with the ability to work under broad direction
  • Well organised, attention to detail, flexible and professional
  • Knowledge of own area and a general understanding of wider programme and business
  • Effective time management skills
