PLC Controls Engineer

Milton Keynes

Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:30

Up to £40,000

Bonus Payment Twice a Year, Health Plan, Life Assurance
We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer in their respective field.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running.

You will beinvolved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation.

With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming teamof engineers.

About the role:


  • Write technical documents (specifications, functional analysis)
  • Organise, plan and monitor work in collaboration with internal contacts and external service providers
  • Develop and program PLCs and HMIs, such as Rockwell, Schneider Omron or Siemens from design to completion.
  • Test and commission equipment, optimise and set up new production lines in terms of efficiency, flow, quality, etc.
  • Participate in technological innovation (Prototype, industry 4.0)
  • Intervene on production lines, focusing on optimization, improvement, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Develop and deliver training on existing and new technologies for the site maintenance team

About you:


  • Will have a minimum of 12 months' experience in an Industrial automation environment.
  • Will be skilled in electrical engineering
  • Will preferably have experience in PLC languages such as Rockwell, Schneider, Omron or Siemens (Control Expert/Studio 5000).
  • Will possess knowledge of Robotic and Motion systems (brushless motorisation) would be an advantage
  • Able to plan and prioritise. Have an eye for detail and good problemsolving abilities and a practical approach.
  • Will be numerate and PC literate including with Microsoft Office packages
  • Comfortable participating in joint projects with other departments, sites or divisions.
  • Well organised, autonomous, a team player and good interpersonal skills are also necessary assets to succeed in this role
