JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you an enthusiastic individual who is looking to take on new challenges in setting and operating a range of CNC machines? We are looking for an experienced CNC milling setter/operator who can maximise production levels.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is willing to learn and adapt to new processes and use their experience in milling to help improve processes and production levels.
DUTIES OF ROLE
The individual will have the following responsibilities and duties:
- Liaise with programmer to determine most efficient and safe set up for production runs and relevant tooling requirements.
- Set up a range of CNC machines and prove out programs ready for production runs.
- Safely and efficiently operate a range of CNC machines to ensure customer delivery dates are met.
- Performing First off and Last off inspections along with inprocess inspections (both visual and dimensional) where required, to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the process.
- Help identify process improvements and assist with their implementation consider fixturing, tooling etc. to improve machining efficiencies.
- Complete essential documentation to maintain process records.
- Monitor reject rates and record data for analysis.
- Assist with training and mentoring operators/new starters when required.
- To support the team with any other tasks commensurate with the role
- To carry out additional reasonable duties as required by business needs.
Person Specification
Qualifications and experience
- Experience of setting and operating CNC machining centers essential
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and related features essential.
- Able to write or edit basic programs at the machine controls advantageous.
- Ability to use standard handheld inspection equipment essential.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards essential.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong problemsolving skills.
- Good numeracy skills

Salary:
£12.00-£14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
