  • Are you interested in using and developing your technical skills and expertise to support analysts, scientists, engineers and managers?
  • Can you work as a team to deliver innovative knowledge management solutions to address key challenges?

  • Are you looking for a role where you can drive your career, with great opportunities to gain new skills and qualifications, working with fieldleading experts across a range of disciplines?

The Reason
The Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) capability sits within the Exploitation and Biometrics Group (EBG).

The primary responsibility of the post-holder will be the support of information and knowledge management solutions and the delivery of advice across all aspects of the Group's work.

This includes the delivery and management of digital information in support of the operational Materiel and Personnel Exploitation (MPE) capability within UK Defence Exploitation Facility (UK DEF).

The UK DEF is responsible for conducting MPE on behalf of UK Defence and ensuring that the capability continues to evolve to meet the challenges of a complex and deteriorating international security environment.

The role also supports the research and development of future and emerging technologies within the Identity and Digital Forensics (IDF) and Materiel Personnel Exploitation (MPE) Research Projects.

The post holder will work with a wide range of colleagues across the group, plus staff within the division and wider organisation.

Developing successful working relationships with staff is a critically important part of the job.

IKM is one of several technical capabilities, which allow the Exploitation & Biometrics Group to support deployed operations and enable forensic capabilities related to Policing and Security.

EBG forms part of the Counter Terrorism and Security (CTS) division supporting military and security operations.

Dstl recognises the importance of diversity and inclusion as people from diverse backgrounds bring fresh ideas.

We are committed to building an inclusive working environment in which each employee fulfils their potential and maximises their contribution.

We particularly welcome female and ethnic minority applicants and those from the LGBTQI community, as they are under-represented within Dstl at these levels.
