WHAT YOU'LL DO
This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start.


You'll support the delivery of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles and components from concept to end of volume production.

Contributing to the sign off of all vehicles to meet the necessary legislative, corporate requirements and quality attributes.


You'll lead the development and verification testing processes for the JLR product in alignment with the vehicle engineering teams, whilst developing technical processes and procedures for EMC testing of the JLR product with alignment with international standards and JLR processes.


You'll contribute to development of the technical capabilities of the EMC test operation team, assist the lead engineers in generation of the skills matrix and development plans for the team members.

Define the required equipment for the sign-off tests. Provide technical approval for the work conducted in the laboratory, included but not limited to report approval. Liaise with suppliers to understand new technologies and maintain existing support for JLR equipment. In addition, support the accreditation of the Laboratory to ISO17025 standards.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Work with the wider JLR teams to develop a test facility strategy to support JLR product development.
  • Creating purchase strategy for EMC equipment, support the Capex process to acquire budget and manage project to deliver equipment ontime to budget.
  • Ensuring lab team are fully trained in all JLR EMC processes.
  • Reporting training KPIs as defined by the Manager
  • EE Laboratory Ops
  • Accountable for Calibration and signoff of EMC equipment, included and not limited to trend analysis and review of the calibration data.
  • Accountable for the specification of the calibration data and standard
  • Ensuring the facility adheres to relevant quality, environmental and safety standards.
  • Accountable for the technical EMC audits and development of ISO17025 compliant technical processes.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential

  • Relevant previous experience in a similar engineering role in a EMC test facility, ideally automotive experience required; however commercial or aerospace EMC will be considered.
  • Good understanding of the automotive EMC testing with solid EMC theory including but not limited to vehicle and component testing.
  • Good knowledge of leading automotive and commercial EMC testing including but not limited to:


  • CISPR 12/2

  • ISO /
  • ISO 763
  • UNECE R10


  • EN 1289

  • IEC /
  • ISO 1330
  • OEM standards
  • Good understanding of the ISO 17025 laboratory standard
  • Degree or proven relevant equivalent experience.
  • Good communication skills, both within immediate team and with other JLR departments.
  • Valid Driving Licence.
Desirable

  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture and vehicle networks.
  • Automotive HV systems experience.
